The Chainsmokers Win First-Ever Grammy With 'Don't Let Me Down' Featuring Daya

spotlight logo FINALAhead of the live Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday evening, The Chainsmokers kicked off the ceremony on a high note by scoring the Best Dance Recording gramophone for their Daya-assisted single "Don't Let Me Down."

The duo, individually known as Drew Taggary and Alex Pall, bested Bob Moses' "Tearing Me Up," Flume's "Never Be Like You" featuring Kai, Riton's "Rinse & Repeat" featuring Kah-Lo, and Sofi Tukker's "Drinkee" in the category. 

The Chainsmokers, who are also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Closer" featuring Halsey, celebrated their first-ever Grammy win by writing on Twitter: "WE JUST WON OUR FIRST GRAMMY!!! PACK MAKE SOME NOISE!"

The Chainsmokers are also nominated for 11 iHeartRadio Music Award nominations, including Song of the Year, Best Duo/Group of the Year, and Best New Pop Artist. The duo fall one nod short behind Drake, who will enter the ceremony with 12 nominations including Song of the Year for "One Dance" featuring Wizkid and Kyla, as well as Male Artist of the Year and Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.

The iHeart Awards, which celebrates music heard across iHeartMedia radio stations over the past year, will air live from the Forum in Inglewood, California on March 5 at 8 p.m. EST on TBS, TNT, and truTV. Cast your votes in the socially-charged categories here.
