Lowdown from Twangtown

A contrived controversy for your Monday morning. Some "music insiders" started whining after hearing BLAKE SHELTON and TRACE ADKINS' song "Hell Right". They said it disrespected Lil Nas X's"Old Town Road"

It's because of the part where Blake sings, "Then the girl from the small town took off the 'Old Town', put on a little Hank Jr." And then Trace answers, "Thank God."

The reason that's supposed to be offensive is because Lil Nas is black and Hank Williams Jr. "supports" the Confederate flag.

Obviously, they're reading way too much into it. Blake and Trace are simply saying they'd rather hear a classic instead of something that's getting played nonstop. Still, Blake's rep decided to make a statement to "Variety".

Quote, "It's absolutely not throwing any kind of shade at all. Blake says this literally has nothing to do with anything at all except how much the song is played. It could have been 'Achy Breaky Heart' or any other [overplayed] song."

His rep also pointed out that Blake cleared it with Billy Ray Cyrus ahead of time. Billy's on the most popular version of the song, and he thought the lyric was funny.

DRAKE WHITE almost passed out while opening for Scotty McCreery on Friday in Roanoke, Virginia. According to a report, he was light-headed and was "unable to stand up." He had to leave the stage, and ended up going to the hospital.

He hit up social media on Saturday to say he'd also be missing the show in Myrtle Beach . . . but he's looking forward to rescheduling soon.

MORGAN WALLEN handles vocals on the song "Heartless" by DJ-producer DIPLO. They released a lyric video together where Diplo uses his real name, Thomas Wesley. (Warning: There are S-words throughout the song.)

Also, there may be another video that was shot at an amusement park. Diplo posted a clip where he's on a kiddie ride while Morgan stands in front of it singing.
