Mail Service is Suspended in Horry and Georgetown Counties

WPDE —The United States Postal Service has shut down post offices in coastal communities ahead of Hurricane Dorian-- including Horry and Georgetown Counties.

The USPS advises customers to deposit outgoing mail as soon as possible to ensure timely delivery out of the local area.

"Depending on local conditions, Post Offices may temporarily close their lobbies as Dorian makes landfall. If roads become impassable or unsafe for travel, mail delivery services may be curtailed, and mail collection schedules from mail collection boxes could be suspended."
Customers can call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777) to obtain information, including available, alternate Post Office retail locations, or check the Postal Service website:www.usps.com.
