The city of Georgetown is warning residents who live close to the waterfront to evacuate before Hurricane Dorian hits the region on Wednesday heading into Thursday.
The National Weather Service has told officials in the city that they are concerned about the hurricane's storm surge along with a high tide set for 3:27 p.m. on Thursday. The following areas of Georgetown are being warned to be especially wary of conditions:
- Front Street
- The East Bay Area
- Greenwich Street
- Bay View
