Maddie & Tae’s new album is finally here!
The country duo released their new, 8-track EP, Through The Madness Vol. 1 on Friday (January 28). Among the highlights, the highly-anticipated project includes the sassy single “Woman You Got,” the sentimental love song (with rising TikTok popularity) “Strangers,” and a couple of star-studded collaborations: “Don’t Make Her look Dumb” featuring Morgane Stapleton (“You Should Probably Leave” singer Chris Stapleton’s wife), and “The Other Side,” featuring award-winning singer-songwriter Lori McKenna.
“This album is the product of finding and focusing on the beauty, love, growth, strength and wisdom you gain through the madness if you look for it,” Maddie & Tae explained when they debuted their album Friday. “Through the chaos of these past couple of years, especially these past couple of months for us, we learn time and time again that love is enough to carry us through. May this album be a giant hug and hand for you to hold through the madness.”
The duo’s Maddie Font shared her reaction as she saw the new album for the first time earlier this week. “It’s like a little cloudy wonderland in here, I love it!” Font gushed. “This turned out so freaking cute!” Font also revealed a “fun fact,” that autographed cards inside the album “these were all signed while Tae was in the hospital. Luckily, she had signed all of them herself, but I had to go to her house after going to the hospital and do this… So, we accomplished a lot while mama was birthin’ that baby.”
Tae — Taylor Kerr — and her husband Josh welcomed their first child earlier this month. Leighton Grace Kerr arrived early on January 17, and the proud parents beamed that their daughter is “beautiful, strong and everything we have ever dreamed of. she decided to be a Capricorn like her daddy. we already can’t wait for the day we get to finally take her home 💜,” they wrote on social media on January 20.
