Trisha Yearwood is getting into the spirit of “spooky season” as she recalls the possible encounter she once had with a ghost. The country music icon spoke with Jeff Mauro on the new Come On Over podcast episode that dropped on Thursday (October 27). That’s when she delivered what the podcast describes as, “her real ghost story that will give you the chills for weeks. AND she has even actual photo evidence to prove it!”

Yearwood said it happened when she and a group of friends toured Alcatraz, a small island in San Francisco Bay that’s located about 1.25 miles offshore from San Francisco, California. It previously served as a fort, a military prison and a maximum security federal penitentiary, as well as the site that Indians of All Tribes occupied for more than a year and a half beginning in 1969 in the name of freedom and civil rights, according to the National Park Service.

“So, we chose to go on a night tour of Alcatraz,” Yearwood explained on the podcast. “One of the tour guides was an older gentleman. He came up to us and said, ‘hey, I’ll take you on a tour of Alcatraz that nobody else ever gets to see.’ He said, ‘you guys get on the staircase and I’ll take a picture of you guys.’ And, as we’re going down the steps, my friend Mandy — she’s snapping pictures all the time — she just turns around and snaps a picture on her phone, of just the staircase that we were just on. There’s an image in this picture that we can’t explain. …I think we saw something. You see for yourself and see what you think.”
