Kelsea Ballerini hinted that new music could arrive soon after ā€œaccidentallyā€ confirming a deluxe album is in the works.

Ballerini spoke about two of the songs in the setlist of her ongoing arena tourĀ in a video shared on TikTok. She spotlighted ā€œTwo Thingsā€ and ā€œFirst Rodeoā€ as two of her personal favorite tracks on her latest studio album, Patterns, which come to life with ā€œthe most magicalā€ production elements on stage:

ā€œIā€™m just sitting here reflecting, thinking, and two of my favorite songs on Patterns are ā€˜Two Thingsā€™ and ā€˜First Rodeo.ā€™ Therefore, those are two of the songs that I made, to what I think, the most magical, production-wise, on tour. And I donā€™t think theyā€™re getting enough love. There, I said it. ā€¦I think theyā€™re so pretty on tour. Thereā€™s a tree. It looks like the treeā€™s on stage. Itā€™s not. Itā€™s on video. Doesnā€™t matter. ā€˜First Rodeo,ā€™ thereā€™s a carousel that comes down. We love ā€˜Baggage.ā€™ We love ā€” I love it all. But can we love these songs? I donā€™t know, before I change the set list? I donā€™t know.ā€

Ballerini explained in the comments that ā€œthe set list is only changing becauseā€¦hypotheticallyā€¦new music needs a lil room šŸ„¹ā€ One TikTok commenter requested, ā€œKelsea please please please put out ā€˜[To The Men That Love Women After Heartbreak],ā€™ā€ an unreleased ballad that Ballerini played for the first time on the Grand Ole Opry stage in November 2023, and it quickly became a fan-favorite. Ballerini replied to the TikToker simply with the emoji of a pair of eyes: ā€œšŸ‘€.ā€

Balleriniā€™s hint at new music arrives shortly after she ā€œaccidentallyā€ confirmed she would release a deluxe edition of Patterns. She said in a recent interview with ByrdieĀ that sheā€™s working on a ā€œreally greatā€ deluxe album after debuting the original 15-track record in October. Ballerini teamed up with songwriters and producers Alysa Vanderheym,Ā Little Big Town'sĀ Karen Fairchild,Ā Jessie Jo DillonĀ andĀ Hillary LindseyĀ to bring the record to life.

ā€œIt is a love record. Itā€™s full of loveā€”self-love, love for my family, my friends, my partner, whatever,ā€ Ballerini said ofĀ PatternsĀ in her interview withĀ Byrdie. ā€œBut itā€™s the nuance of it, the growth of it, the tension within itā€¦ that is so necessary and interesting to me.

ā€œIā€™ve always considered myself country-adjacent,ā€ she said later of her musical style. ā€œI grew up in East Tennessee, on a farm, and I write from a storytelling perspective. And Iā€™ve dug my heels into the Nashville country music communityā€“thatā€™s home base for me. But I also donā€™t want to ever be boxed in, and I would urge every artist to feel that way. ā€¦Music is music. It should exist for everyone, and the whole point of country music, in particular, is writing the truth, writing your story. It shouldnā€™t matter if thereā€™s a banjo or a beat drop. Itā€™s been really beautiful to watch new ears come into this community, and I love being a small part of that.ā€

Ballerini celebrated Patternsā€™ arrival with a sold out album release show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She kicked off her first headlining arena tour in January with special guests Sasha Alex Sloan,Ā Ashe,Ā The Japanese HouseĀ andĀ MaRynn Taylor.Ā See the list of tour stops here.
