Darius Rucker apologized in a new statement to fans after cutting a show short because of vocal issues. The “Beers And Sunshine” artist admitted it’s the first time he’s ever lost his voice in his decades-long career.
Rucker was set to take the stage on Saturday (July 12) in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He said in a statement shared on his Instagram story on Sunday (July 13): “Thank you so much for coming out Saturday night. I feel awful and I ‘m so sorry — I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing. We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it’s just not possible this year, so we’re issuing full refunds. The venue will send details to you directly.
“Thank you so much for all your kind messages wishing me well. Love y’all and see you soon! Peace, Darius.”
Rucker’s next performance is set for Saturday (July 19) in Hollywood, Florida, his list of tour dates shows. The Hootie & the Blowfish star is also set to perform in New York, Wisconsin, Colorado, California, Tennessee, the U.K., his home state of South Carolina, Canada and other destinations throughout the rest of the year. His final tour stop listed is December 13 in Naples, Florida. He’ll also join Mumford & Sons as a special guest on the band’s “Railroad Revival Tour” on August 4, Mumford & Sons announced on Monday morning (July 14). See Rucker’s upcoming tour dates below.
