What's up!?? Usually, around this time of year, artist start releasing new music! John Mayer released a new song a few weeks ago. He actually debuted the new song at an iHeart event! An extra plus. Here it is. It's called, "I Guess I Just Feel Like". Sidenote: There are two really awesome guitar solos on the track.
If you've never heard of JJ Cale, this would be a great introduction. Cale became popular when Eric Clapton recorded some of his songs in the 80's. "After Midnight" and "Cocaine" were both written by Cale. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of JJ's earlier stuff. This song is called "Magnolia", and I think it's about as good of a song that's ever been written. Enjoy! Sidenote: Notice the simple structure!!
Speaking of Eric Clapton, I've been on a real Cream kick lately!! My favorite Cream song is called "Badge". Or is it? This song was written by George Harrison. That's right, The Beatles' George Harrison. The Beatles weren't going to record the song, so Harrison gave the written lyrics to Eric Clapton. Eric recorded the song with his then band, Cream. Unfortunately, George Harrison had horrible handwriting. The actual title of the song was "Bridge". Clapton thought the 'ri' was an 'a' and the rest is history. Take a listen.
